Over-the-counter (OTC) trading is the most efficient way to move stablecoins in size. This guide explains OTC, how the AURUM desk earns from selling USDT/USDC for fiat and shares part of its margin with the pool, how the business-day calendar works and how to protect yourself from scammers.
On an exchange, trading happens in a public order book. When someone places a large order, it “eats” through the offers in the book one by one, and the price moves a little at every level. This is called slippage, and on large trades it can cost thousands of dollars.
In an OTC trade, the whole amount changes hands off the order book at a single price. The price is known in advance and the market does not move. That is why buyers who need stablecoins in size work with OTC desks — and the desk earns a margin on each trade in return for this service.
| Exchange order book | OTC desk | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Slips as the order grows | One firm price for the entire amount |
| Market impact | Large orders move the price | Off the book, no effect on price |
| Privacy | Orders are visible to everyone | Counterparties never see each other |
| Desk earnings | — | A margin on each trade |
Trades with people who present themselves as OTC sellers on Telegram, WhatsApp or social media come with no protection whatsoever. Most crypto fraud complaints stem from exactly these “you send first” deals.
At AURUM, you never trade. The USDT/USDC locked in packages is pooled. During each trading session on business days the desk executes several OTC trades, selling USDT/USDC for fiat to buyers who need size. The desk earns a margin on each trade and shares part of it with the pool.
After each trade the desk opens a taker (reverse) position. The reverse trade earns users nothing. For every OTC trade you earn your trading volume × your tier rate. Your tier is set by your total locked principal.
Everyone in the pool sees the same trades at the same times; only the amounts are personal. At the close, a business day can only be closed when the desk profit recorded that day covers the investors’ share.
Several trades during each session. Each OTC trade earns you volume × tier rate; the taker position that follows earns users nothing.
At the close the taker fee of 0.15% of principal is charged once (10K–100K tiers) or twice (100K and above). The net result is credited to your package.
| Your locked principal | Your share per trade | Taker fees per day |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 – 50,000 | 0.04% | 1 × 0.15% |
| 50,000 – 100,000 | 0.05% | 1 × 0.15% |
| 100,000 – 250,000 | 0.075% | 2 × 0.15% |
| 250,000 – 500,000 | 0.085% | 2 × 0.15% |
| 500,000 – 1,000,000 | 0.095% | 2 × 0.15% |
| 1,000,000 and above | 0.11% | 2 × 0.15% |
On a 50,000 package at 0.04%, each trade earns 20; the taker fee of 0.15% (75) is charged once at the close. Fewer trades mean a lower result.
The desk trades on business days only. Each business day has one trading session. Your dashboard shows a countdown to the session close, or, while trading is paused, a countdown until trading resumes.

| Non-business days and public holidays | No trading | None credited |

Scammers try to lure you off the platform or claim to speak on behalf of AURUM. Learn to recognise the signs.
Offers that guarantee the same high profit every day without explaining where it comes from are usually Ponzi schemes that pay earlier investors with new money.
They message you posing as an “AURUM manager” and ask for payment to a personal address for a “VIP tier”.
An off-platform OTC seller disappears after receiving payment, or sends a fake receipt.
A pixel-perfect copy of the sign-in page on a domain one letter off; anything you enter is stolen.
A small transfer is sent to you from an address that closely resembles one you use often; you pick it by mistake when copying from your history.
You are told to pay a “tax” or an “unlock fee” before you can withdraw your balance.
The same stablecoin can circulate on different blockchain networks. Funds sent over the wrong network are often unrecoverable. The network you select on the deposit screen must match the network you send from.
